The 11 days Everest Base Camp trek starts with the breathtaking flight to Lukla. The adventurous trek begins in a thrilling way through the famous Sherpa village of Phakding, Namche and Tengboche. Day 1: Flight to Lukla (2860m), Trek to Phakding (2610m)
The first day of the trip starts with the scenic flight to Lukla, the gateway of the Everest region. You will be transferred to the airport for the flight where you will get to see the amazing scenery of charming landscape, green hills, and also a glimpse of the Himalayas. After reaching meet team members and starts the trek to Phakding, passing beautiful dense forests filled with colorful rhododendron flowers. Follow the Dudh Koshi River and leads up to Phakding. Stay overnight at teahouses.
Day 2: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m)
The second day of the trek begins through the valley of Dudh Koshi River. Walk along the windy trail to reach the small Monjo village. Enter the Sagarmatha National Park and trek through the lush green forests. Continue your walk to the beautiful Sherpa village and also a famous tourist hub in the Khumbu region. Stay overnight at teahouses.
Day 3: Trek to Tengboche (3870m)
Today, you will be heading towards Tengboche along the rushing frigid waters of Dudh Koshi with captivating views of mountains like Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Amadablam and a close view of Thamserku and Kangtega. After crossing suspension bridges over Dudh Koshi River a steep climb through pine and juniper forest, you’ll walk about 2hrs to reach Tengboche. Explore one of the biggest and important monasteries of the Khumbu region. It offers dazzling panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Amadablam, kangtega & Kongde Range. Stay overnight at teahouses.
Day 4: Trek to Dingboche (4410m)
After breakfast, start hiking over the Imja Khola and cross several suspension bridges. Pass the small settlements like Pangboche through the lush forests of birch, conifer and rhododendron trees. You have to choose the upper trail and adore the Himalayan views and monasteries. After all, descend and reach a beautiful village completely filled with barleys, potato, and buckwheat fields- Dingboche. Stay overnight at teahouses.
Day 5: Rest and acclimatization day at Dingboche
Today is a special day that is separated for the rest and to acclimatize the body. On this day you have two options either explore Dingboche or hike to Chukkung or Nangkartshang peak.
Day 6: Trek to Lobuche (4940m)
Today the trail leads you to Lobuche so; it will be more gradual and be more challenging due to the higher altitude. Start your day with a steep walk to the top of a high hill where you can see the memorial stupas dedicated to the climbers and trekkers who lost their lives in the Himalayas. After a short bolt, the uphill memorial takes you to Lobuche. Stay overnight at teahouse.
Day 7: Trek to Gorakshep (5364m) and hike to Everest Base Camp (5365m)
On the main day of this trek, walk alongside the Khumbu glacier as the paths wind over the rocky moraine towards the small settlements of Gorakshep. Upon reaching enjoy lunch seeing the close-up views of Mt. Everest and other snow-capped peaks. After lunch, head to Everest Base Camp the dream destination. You will have an amazing experience when you are at the base of the World’s highest mountain. See the eye-catching Khumbu icefall as well as the magnificent Khumbu Glacier from Base camp. Spend your time by enjoying the scenery and then descend back to Gorakshep. Stay overnight at teahouses.
Day 8: Trek to Kalapathar (5643m) and to Pheriche (4371m)
Today, early morning you will be heading to the famous viewpoint Kalapathar, from where you will get the incredible sunrise views and the closest mountain views. You will able to get close-up views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse and many more. After enjoying and capturing the memories in the Himalayas, make way to Pheriche. Stay overnight at teahouse.
Day 9: Trek back to Namche Bazzar
Today, you will be returning back to Namche following the same trail along the Imja Khola. The charming landscape and the glittering Himalayas make this journey even more fascinating. After reaching, take a rest and relax your body. Stay overnight at teahouse.
Day 10: Trek back to Lukla
The trail to Luka also follows the same path via Phakding as it is also the last day of the trek. Walk about 5-6 hrs then you will reach Lukla. Stay overnight at teahouse.
Day 11: Flight back to Kathmandu
Last day of the trip, early in the morning you will transfer to the airport to take a scenic flight to Kathmandu. Enjoy the views of the Himalayas and the many more things that Nepal has to offer. Rest for a while and explore the UNESCO heritage sites of Kathmandu. Taste local cuisines and save memory for a lifetime. There will be a farewell dinner organized by the team members of Himalayan Recreation Treks & Expedition.

TRAVEL INSURANCEProof of travel insurance is mandatory before starting the trek. Standard policies often only cover medical evacuation to 4000m so make sure the policy you get covers trekking as an activity up to 6000m. You only need to be covered on the policy for the days you will actually be trekking. We have some suggestions on finding an insurance company on our Terms of Service Page
EXTRA COSTS AND EXCLUSIONSOur trekking packages are pretty much all inclusive when you arrive in Nepal. Here are additional expenses that you can plan on while trekking:

- Sleeping Bag Rental $20 and Down Jacket $15 if needed.
- All the meals are included on the trek but we only include breakfast while you are in Kathmandu.
- We suggest a tip for the guide and porter after the trek – Plan on around 10% of the cost of your trek.
- We don’t include drinking water on the trek which you can buy a number of places for between $1 and $3 a bottle (it gets more expensive towards base camp). A better solution is to buy water tablets in Kathmandu for around $2 and treat the water (your guide can help you find the good places to fill your water bottle).
- The other things not included on the trek are like Wifi, charging batteries and hot showers. Wifi is available in some tea houses for $3 to $5 an hour. Hot Showers are also available in a few of the tea houses for between $4 and $6. Charging electronic devices is possible in the tea houses and charging costs between $1 and $3 an hour.
- Unforeseen cost due to flight cancellation, weather conditions etc. You are responsible for extra hotel nights ($40/night) and meals in Kathmandu or Lukla for any extra days in Nepal due to flight delays.
SOLO TRAVELERSWe generally don’t charge solo travelers any extra fees. Solo travelers can expect their own hotel room in Kathmandu but will need to share a room with other group members during the trek. If availability allows we will arrange private rooms on the trek as well upon request.
CANCELLATION POLICIESWe understand things happen and plans change and will refund your deposit minus a $150 cancellation fee. If your travel dates change we can generally reschedule you at no extra charge, but please provide at least 7 days advance notice.
EQUIPEMENTThe following are what we advise you obtain in the way of equipment and gear before trekking in Nepal, and are meant to keep you mobile and comfortable in a range of expected weather conditions. Trekking gear can be rented or purchased in Kathmandu at cheaper prices, remember Nepal is the home of Mount Everest, there is plenty of choice and our staff can assist you with the necessary arrangements. Except for your day pack, all luggage will be carried by porters. There is an allowance of 33lbs/15kg per person. Additional personal items not needed for the trekking portion of the trip can be checked in the hotel’s storage room for no extra cost. HEAD
